ABOUT PRCANJ
Coastal settlement of Prcanj, Bay of Kotor. Montenegro
Prčanj is located at the foot of Vrmac Hill and, thanks to the unique combination of sea and mountain air, has long been renowned as a health resort. The settlement is well known for its exceptionally fresh air, which is particularly beneficial for people with respiratory diseases and allergies. This was officially recognised at the Congress of Yugoslav Pulmonologists in the 1920s. Until the 1979 earthquake, the Sanatorium for Non-Specific Pulmonary Diseases was located in the area of Lekovina, which is known for its particularly favourable microclimate.
Today, Prčanj remains a well-known health resort, attracting many visitors seeking to improve their health, undertake sports training, or enjoy a peaceful family holiday by the coast. It has a population of around 1,100 and is situated just 5 km from the medieval town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kotor is a town of remarkable harmony, with its narrow streets and beautiful squares. Throughout the summer, it welcomes visitors from all over the world, drawn by its rich programme of cultural events. Kotor is also renowned for its gastronomy, with culinary specialities that reflect a unique blend of Eastern and Western influences.
